Hotel Henrietta is Farouki Farouki’s first full-service architecture and interior design commission. The project is located on St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans, and it is the first new construction hotel built on the historic avenue in 30 years.

Since the site is so prominent on such a culturally significant thoroughfare, it was vital that the architecture fit into its context. Galleries, arcades, a porch, and a garden are interstitial spaces which are so common throughout New Orleans.

The massing is simple and set back from the street. The front gallery is open to the sky at the roof, so the building seems to recede even more. The arches reflect the neighborhood's vernacular architecture but in a modern way.

The interior design distills and simplifies iconic elements from a more traditional existing sister property nearby. Detailed tile patterns, rich color palettes, and elevated materials create an ambiance that feels unequivocally like New Orleans but still fresh and surprising.

The project includes a living room-style lobby with a unique hybrid reception desk and coffee counter. The guest room types include kings, double queens, suites, and a unique extended stay studio with a kitchenette and living area.
