Salt Wood Kitchen & Oysterette is a full-service, seaside, resort restaurant and culinary destination of the Monterey, CA area. The $3 million-dollar renovation and complete re-imagining of the 7,000 SF restaurant has breathed new life into the resort and local food community.
Seaside farmhouses serve as architectural inspiration for their simple structures and light atmosphere. Natural materials such as reclaimed and whitewashed wood make the spaces feel comfortable and familiar.

John Steinbeck’s stories of everyday men in the Salinas Valley paint a picture of simple, rustic life that resonates with people today. The textures of Steinbeck’s era were weathered, tactile and handmade, and they serve as inspiration for the restaurant design’s patterns and textiles.
